How is clothing really designed? It’s not accidental, automatic, or robotic (well, perhaps there are  a few sewing machines involved but that’s not what we mean). It’s a painstaking process lived every day by our design team – and we thought you might like a peek at how it all comes together. 

We sweat the details (no matter how small), feel the fabric, obsess to get colors just right. We sketch, we sample and sometimes, if things arent good enough, we start all over again. It’s not always glamorous, but it is always interesting. 
 
We strive to make beautiful things, things that make women feel good. And we’re passionate about the process. 

 

Me, I’m just small part of the creative team here at Talbots that dreams up the inspiration behind each clothing collection. I shop vintage, gather color, hunt for inspiration, curate a design library, keep tabs on trends.
